Keswick Mountain Festival 2015

KESWICK MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL The UK’s biggest celebration of outdoor pursuits returns to the Lake District this summer, with a host of star names set to be in attendance.

Keswick Mountain Festival has unveiled details of its programme for 2015 and promises a packed schedule of outdoor activities, speakers, sports events, live music and family friendly attractions.

Among the main highlights for the event, which runs from May 14 to 17, are speakers such as Olympic triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee and a host of high profile outdoor personalities, live music from leading folk music acts Seth Lakeman and the Peat Bog Faeries, and an extensive hike schedule of over 25 walks at all levels.

Each year, the festival offers a comprehensive and varied programme from its base in Crow Park on the edge of Keswick.

The festival has once again secured an extremely strong line up of speakers, who are expected to attract big audiences to the Theatre by the Lake. On Thursday 14 May, the focus will be on climbing, with Leo Houlding, Doug Scott and Andy Kirkpatrick.

Alistair Brownlee will take to the stage in conversation with the BBC’s chief sports writer, Tom Fordyce. He will be followed by Cumbrian fell-running legends Joss Naylor and Steve Birkinshaw, who will appear together for the first time to talk about their respective record breaking Wainwrights runs. Completing the schedule, the ever popular Ray Mears will speak during two sessions in the theatre.

A full programme of events is available to view on the event’s new website at www.keswickmountainfestival.co.uk and tickets are available now.
